About

The Cornish Rex is one of the most distinctive cat breeds, instantly recognizable by its soft, wavy coat, elegant physique, and large expressive ears. Originating in Cornwall, England, in 1950 from a natural genetic mutation, the breed quickly gained popularity for its unusual appearance and lively personality.

Unlike most cats, the Cornish Rex has only a soft undercoat, lacking the guard hairs and awn hairs found in typical feline coats. This gives its fur a silky, velvety texture with beautiful waves or curls that lie close to the body.

Cornish Rex cats are medium-sized, athletic, and incredibly agile. Their long legs, arched back, and graceful build make them excellent jumpers and climbers. They are highly intelligent, curious, and playful, often enjoying games of fetch, puzzle toys, and interactive activities. Their energetic nature and love of attention have earned them the nickname "the Greyhound of the cat world."

These affectionate cats thrive on human companionship and often follow their owners from room to room. They generally get along well with children, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs, making them ideal family pets. Their playful personality often continues well into old age.

The Cornish Rex cat price in India typically ranges between ₹1,50,000 to ₹4,00,000 depending on breeder quality, lineage, and location. Monthly maintenance costs range from ₹3,000 to ₹7,000+Intelligent including food and healthcare.
